Potency:
1,825 - 2,100 Fibrinolytic Units (F.U.). Each batch is assayed after capsulation. | |
Isolated, and purified Nattokinase is an enzyme derived from boiled soybeans fermented with a bacillus bacteria forming Natto, a slippery, nutty and sour flavored condiment in Japanese cuisine. Research has shown that Nattokinase supports the body in breaking up and dissolving the unhealthy clotting of blood (chronic coagulation) and lowers fibrinogen while reducing platelet aggregation (clumping) involved in the clotting process. It is well researched and effective. This new improved Nattokinase from Allergy Research is of the highest potency available, yielding 1,825-2,100 FU per each 100 mg softgel (FU means fibrinolytic units or fibrinolytic activity, that is the ability to dissolve fibrin which, if uncontrolled is a factor in clot formation). The fibrinolytic activity varies because Allergy Research does the diligence to have each batch independently assayed to verify actual fibrinolytic potency before and after capsulation. This varies somewhat from batch to batch hence the guaranteed FU range of 1,825-2,100 per softgel. This product in its new and improved form is more than two times the potency per softgel of our former products and is more readily absorbed. Natto, the condiment used in Japan, has naturally occurring vitamin K. This Nattokinase product is vitamin K free further aiding the products ability to thin blood safely and effectively. It is best to
monitor the blood thinning effects of
Nattokinase.
This is best monitored with fibrinogen levels (ideal target = < 250)
and a bleeding time to monitor platelet aggregation.
A bleeding time is performed in a physician's
office or in a hospital lab by placing a blood pressure
cuff on the upper arm at 40 mm of Hg. while using a
standardized lancet to prick the forearm with the
SurgicuttTM bleeding time system. This
bleeding time normally ranges from 2-10 minutes with an
ideal blood thinning target between 6-8 minutes.
