Introducing a breakthrough in cardiovascular health.  Heart disease is the number one killer in America, surpassing cancer by a wide margin.  A prevention program of diet, lifestyle and nutritional supplements may improve your health and reduce your risk of heart disease.1  CardioGOLD is designed to promote optimum cardiovascular health, along with a healthy diet and lifestyle. CardioGOLD is based on the latest research and utilizes unique, patented ingredients to address four major "nutritionally modifiable" risk factors in one convenient formula.

    1. Reduces cholesterol naturally without drugs.  Plant sterols reduce dietary cholesterol absorption, while the patented, pharmaceutical grade citrus bioflavonoids, hesperidin and naringin, reduce production of cholesterol by the liver.  The combination will substantially reduce elevated cholesterol levels without the risk of going too low (over). The hesperidin and naringin also reduce LDL, LDL oxidation and increase HDL to improve the HDL/LDL ratio.  And unlike statin drugs, which can be damaging to the liver, hesperidin and naringin significantly improve liver health. Studies also show that naringin genetically down-regulates adhesion molecules and may reduces the build up of plaque forming fatty deposits on the artery walls (see below).

    2. Balances inflammation factors.  Emerging research points to inflammation as a major risk factor in heart disease.  Potent standardized herbal extracts balance the major inflammation factors. See the table below. Hesperidin, naringin, white willow bark and bromelain also help mediate inflammation and most of these ingredients also have antioxidant properties and help reduce LDL oxidation by increasing the antioxidant capacity of the blood.

    3.  Maintains healthy blood clotting.  Platelets and fibrinogen interact to form blood clots.  White willow bark, a natural alternative to aspirin, along with bromelain, garlic and vitamin E help maintain normal platelet aggregation (clumping). Curcumin (from turmeric), bromelain and garlic reduce fibrinogen  levels. Together these form a comprehensive solution for reducing blood viscosity and maintaining normal healthy blood clotting.

    4.  Balances homocysteine levels.  Vitamins B6, B12 and Folic Acid are essential for maintaining homocysteine balance.  Genetic variations affect the ability of many people to properly utilize these vitamins, so the active form of B12 is used along with trimethylglycine (TMG) and high doses of B6 and Folic Acid to help ensure homocysteine balance.

    CardioGOLD Ingredients

The ingredients in CardioGOLD were carefully chosen based on both research and Dr. Milner's clinical experience for maximum cardiovascular protection.  Notice that most of the ingredients are multi-functional, helping to accomplish multiple functions with a single ingredient.  Many of these ingredients also offer benefits beyond the cardio protective functions.  All herbal and plant based ingredients are standardized for guaranteed potency.  All herbal and plant source ingredients are natural, and the vitamins and TMG are natural forms.

    Cholesterol Control

The cholesterol control ingredients in CardioGOLD have been extensively studied and are well established as excellent, hepatic (liver) cholesterol control ingredients.  A 50/50 mixture of hesperidin and naringin has been shown to be an optimal performing blend, showing total and LDL cholesterol reduction of about 30% coupled with triglyceride reductions and significant improvement in the HDL/LDL ratio.  Phytosterols have been shown to have moderate total and LDL cholesterol reduction that drug studies have shown is additive to liver related improvements.  CardioGOLD includes both for optimal overal performance.  The hesperidin/naringin has also been shown to significantly increase SOD (superoxide dismutase) and Catalase antioxidant enzyme activity, and has also been shown to significantly reduce fatty liver deposits and improve liver health.  Studies also show that naringin does not cause cholesterol reduction if starting at normal cholesterol levels, which significantly reduces the risk of driving cholesterol levels too low.

    Fatty Deposit Reduction

Research on the ability of Naringin to reduce fatty deposits determined that the reductions were based on genetic downregulation of the two adhesion factors that cause lipids to stick to the artery walls.2
    Fatty Deposits in Arteries

For rabbits on a high cholesterol diet for 8 weeks, fatty deposits (with macrophage cells stained red) shown in these artery cross sections are much reduced in the rabbit on a diet with Naringin compared with the rabbit on a diet without Naringin.2

    Fatty Streaks

In these views of the linings of the arteries, the red stained fatty streaks cover much less of the surface area in the rabbits on a high cholesterol diet for 8 weeks with Naringin than on the same diet without Naringin.2

    Summary

As you can see from the above formula information, CardioGOLD goes far beyond other cardio protective formulas.  The ingredients are natural yet quite potent, and the formula is an excellent value for all of the quality ingredients and resulting functionality provided.  It is also the only formula to offer the unique hesperidin/naringin ingredient, and naringin's unique ability to downregulate fatty deposit adhesion factors.
